What is your personality type?

 


According to the Charles Darwin we evolved from the apes. Since that era, we worked as a team. Each member of the team had a different role. There was a team leader among them. He or she guided their team to do the certain tasks. When it comes to the modern world team building is a compulsory thing to overcome challenges that we face day-by-day. Inside the schools and universities, we have so many extra-curricular activities to build up our personality. Personally, I believe we have to understand our team members well to complete our tasks well. To understand this, we can categorize our team members into for main categories like Dominance, Influencing, Cautions and Stabilizing. We cannot put a person directly to this category because each person has different type of qualities that related to all four categories but considering the most suitable personality type is the best way to deal with a person.

When we were doing our group discussion, we had to have this type of analysis. According to the analysis results are as follows.

Pasindu Bhanuka (Me)

Most of my qualities are related to dominant type. Not only in the assignments but also in the personal life I'm a dominant person. I love to take risks, leaderships and try to do things that most of fellow colleagues can't do. I'm also task oriented but at the same time I care about my members. I have the ability to make strategic plans for four years to achieve my goals. At the university I am doing and had done so many extra-curricular activities. In each I try to do my best no matter what happened. Participated HackX Finals, Scrabble Inter-Faculty 3rd place, COD Fest Commentary and team building, Karate, Group Leadership and also a member of a media unit. Rather than that these days I'm in a competition. Also, I wish to pass Karate gradings and get new belts and participate SLUG tournaments and win in both Scrabble and Karate. Also wish to be the chief coordinator of HackX jr. 6.0. and play a good role in other two events. At the Final Year I have a goal to get the MAS - The most outstanding student award of the department.

 Rasanga Pramuddika

Unlike me Rasanga has an influencing personality. He is an extrovert like me but most of time he considers about the relationships more than the tasks. When I get aggressive and rush in decision making, he calmed me down and get into the point. Always he tries to keep conversation going but the problem is most of time he forgets the topic and discusses another gossip. Rather than that most of time my innovative ideas reject by him because he knows that some of fellow members can't afford to it. But he does it slowly without breaking my spirit. Compared to me he is not a goal-oriented person like me, but he has some goals like fellow members. He is the member that most suitable to work with me unlike others. He is very calm and have a lot of friends like me. 

Cautious

 An introvert. Have an analytical mindset with a good understanding about everything. Compared to others he has job experience in analytical area and have a deep understanding about most topics. Also good in calculations and have a good memory with clear algorithms. Also, I can deal a person like this well even though he is an introvert. But the case is he doesn't like some group works and try to get rid of them. Also, we both are in the same mentor group and as the group leader I face lot of troubles when dealing with him. But he has a good potential to do anything. Combining his analytical skills with my leadership skills can expand the boundaries that we talk. Rather than that he hides his skills from others but people who are close to him know about his talents.

Pasindu Jayasekara

Good analytical person. Love to play Call of Duty and also a pro player in this game. Weak in coordination and leadership. Rather than he can give some better solutions for problems with a limited time. Also, very calm and less social person. Have a limited number of friends with a strong bond. I can deal this person easily due to his task-oriented behavior. As a fun fact he also has the same name as mine. Love to solve problems and try to avoid risks in most of time. But if he took a risk, he can manage it well.

 Thamindu Punyawardhana

Calmness is the main quality of him. Most of time he doesn't rush into the topic, and he is very shy person. He cares about the members but don't try to express it. He is very lazy and sometime negative. Actually, his negative personality makes me anger but I don't show it to him because I know how dangerous my mouth is. Sometimes I blame to him, but he didn't re blamed to me. He hasn't any either enemy or a rival in his life. If new person met with him, he doesn't blame to Thamindu due to his calm and amiable personality. Also, he tries to treat all of us as equal. He gives some good ideas, but they are not innovative in most cases but except me my fellow members accept those ideas. In the personal life he is very backward but he participates most of the events that we are organizing at the university.  He is very courageous boy all the time and I appreciate this quality is the best quality of him. According to my vision he is the hardest member to deal with me and at the same time he is the kindest member of our group.

Charith Anupama

Charith is also a hard person that I cannot deal well. Like Thamindu he has the same attitude which is laziness. Unlike Thamindu he has a little bit aggressive personality. But also, he tries to stay calm and move on. He doesn't like to participate events that much, but he has a good understanding about everything. Also, he is a Cricket fan and he have a very good knowledge in cricket. He thinks about all team members, but he is weak in taking risks and leaderships. He is good in making friends, but he is an introvert. As dominators we have to deal with people like Charith in very calm manner because they love the calmness. 

Thamindu Senanayake

Thia is the third stabilizing personality in our group is Thamindu Senanayake and also, he is the second Thamindu of our group. Compared to other he is the most chilled person and most calmed person in our group. He participates a lot of events, but he is an introvert. Sometimes he acts like an extrovert too but most of time he is an introvert. He makes a lot of fun in talking and try to get the conversation move on in an energetic manner. But the problem is sometimes team members forget their topic and engage with Thamindu's talks. To control this as a dominator we have to limit making fun in the group meeting by remembering members what the purpose of the meeting is. Rather than that using his friendliness an advantage to build good relationship within the team and when a problem occurs within the team, we can use he as a calm down member. 

According to this analysis I got a good understanding about all our members. Actually, as a dominant most of time I get aggressive with non-task-oriented types. From this moment I can manage those stuff and deal with them well.
